This Recipe was requested by Annie … actually after showing the first fasolia (green beans) recipe I got many requests of showing the other way that we in Palestine cook green beans … this is simple too and as most, if not all our cuisine is made with lamb meat … this is too
… to make it you will need:
Serves: 4 to 6
- 1/2 Kg Lamb meat (2 inches cubes and some with the bone )
- 1/2 kg Green Beans … you can use fresh or frozen
- 1 Red Onion … chopped
- 1 tb Ghee or butter
- 2 tb Tomato sauce
- 1 ts all-spice
- salt and pepper

In a Pressure Cooker … place the Ghee (or butter) onions and meat … simply cook the meat until all its liquids is released and starting to dry out …

Then add enough water to cover approximately 2 inches above the meat … or if you want to make extra stock you can always add more water …

Cover it and cook for half an hour … until the meat is well done and tender …

Once the meat is cooked place it in a pot …

To the meat add the green beans …

In another pot place around 3 cups of stock and add the tomato sauce to it … and stir well …

Then add the tomato stock to the green beans and meat …
The green beans are supposed to be nearly covered with the stock … if it didnt cover it add a little more stock …

Season the green beans with the all-spice, salt and pepper and cook it for around half an hour … until the tomato sauce is slightly thinkened and reduced …
If using fresh green beans then you will need to cook it for 1 hour … until the green beans the well cooked and tender ….

And thats it …. Serve it with a side of white rice or with Pita bread
Enjoy
…

This looks like an easy recipe, I think I remember eating it in Jordan with my inlaws (they are Palestinian). Doesn’t need too many ingredients. I might make it with beef at first as it’s cheaper here.
I don’t have a pressure cooker. How long should I cook the meat on the stove?
Thanks!
Anisah
Hi Anisah … this is a really simple recipe to make … if you dont have a pressure cooker just double the cooking time … its just like boiling meat … what you are looking for is for the meat to be done and tender … hope this helps … let me know how it turns out … stay in touch
